"J. David Buerk" (acousticaperture)

Greeting Oppos! I was showing a friend of mine around DC this past week, and while tourist-ing, I spotted this plastic wrapped XJR L with manufacturer plates (Jaguar HQ is in New Jersey) doing a U-Turn at the White House entrance at Pennsylvania and 15th. You’ll notice that the R badges are covered with tape, as well as the front and rear fascias, headlights, and taillights. There is a large plastic cover over the Jaguar emblem on the front of the car.
There were several occupants in the car, all seeming to have a discussion. In the windshield, there were several suction cups with devices attached, which to me looked more like cameras than anything else (it certainly didn’t appear to be a GPS to me).
So tell me Oppoverse - have I spotted something interesting prowling the streets of DC, or is was this just your average automotive press review? As a Jaguar fan, I was more than excited to spot this less-than-usual adornment of Jag’s top cat.

Agreed. I figure this is more of a press car than anything.

Bumper inlets are a different shape than regular.
You might have caught something.

Looks like a tester, not sure what the camo is for as the XJR- LWB has been on sale for a while.

Maybe it’s going to be a Jaguar XJLRS. But seriously, they may be doing an XJL SVR.

Jaguar is really bad at integrating adaptive cruise control into their cars:

Volvo is just as impressive.
